Founded in 1961 and headquartered on Long Island, New York, FEI has spent more than six decades advancing the science and engineering of precision timing, frequency control, synchronization, and RF/microwave technologies.
From its earliest days, the company focused on solving some of the most challenging timing and frequency problems in aerospace, communications, defense, and space applications. As these industries became increasingly dependent on accurate timing and synchronization, FEI developed the technologies, expertise, and manufacturing capabilities required to meet demanding performance, reliability, and environmental requirements.
Over the decades, the company evolved from a specialist timing technology provider into a vertically integrated engineering and manufacturing organization capable of producing many of the critical technologies that determine system performance. This includes expertise spanning quartz resonators, atomic frequency standards, frequency generation systems, RF/microwave technologies, and highly integrated electronic assemblies.
